Guest guest Posted September 18, 2009 Report Share Posted September 18, 2009 One day workshop on “Human Rights and Legal Aids with special reference to HIV AIDS†was conducted by Public Awareness for Healthful Approach for Living (PAHAL), Bhoruka Charitable Trust Mainstreaming State Unit and State Mainstreaming Unit today at SCADA business center, Patna. PHED Minister, Sri Ashwini Kumar Choubey inaugurated the workshop and decried the discrimination against People Living with HIV AIDS. In his key note address, Dr Diwakar Tejaswi, Medical Director PAHAL emphasized the importance of making a network of NGO’s working in the field of Human Rights and Right to Information issues. Dr Tejaswi told that there are legal experts and NGO’s that are providing all necessary help right from drafting letters under Right to Information to initiating Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on right violation issues free of cost. Sri Sanjay Gautam from Bhoruka Charitable Trust Mainstreaming State Unit (MRU) , Mrs Seema Singh from SMU, UNDP spoke about mainstreaming of HIV AIDS programme in Bihar. Sri Anand Dwivedi from PAHAL proposed the vote of thanks. Those who participated in the discussion included Mr Gyan Ranjan, President, Bihar Network of People Living with HIV AIDS, Mr Abhishek and Saurabh from JAWAB NGO, Mr Satyanand State Coordinator, Human Right Lawyers Network, Mr Ravindra Rai from PAIRVI, Ms Suman Lal from Prayas, Mr Ashok Priyadarshi, Senior Advocate, Patna High Court, Mr Sanjay from Gramin Vikas Samiti, Mr N K Agarwal from Nav Gurukul among others.
