Guest guest
quick thought - just ran into this one post, haven't browsed thread quite yet....anyway, chuckling..big sigh - I have heard this advice many times - well, just let aunt so & so or whoever watch em for a day, then they will " get it. " The problem I had (have) with this, is my kids were TOUGH, and I knew how " to deal, " without totally snapping ( " they just need discipline " was another good un..not)...I was never quite willing to see what other people's limits might be, without my own self in between them & my kids, yk? Well-meaning, but not necessarily a good idea...over time, the need to have " other " people understand how very hard my kids were, got better. At this point (in my " older " years, lol), I really could not care less that someone else doesn't " get it. " I do, however, shield my younger kids from well-meaning, but potentially (emotionally) harmful adults...chuckling again - with lots of spiels over the years. " this is the way WE do it, but you do not get to offend the natives " is a familiar one...(I) You do what works & learn to listen for the good parts in well-meaning advice, but to mostly ignore the bulk of it..wishing all the best answers, elizabeth ps...I have come to dread flu season - we don't get " the flu " around here until the people around us get their flu shots. The one that " takes ya down. " - this has become very apparent over the past 3 yrs...big sigh, super aarrgghh. > > > > A friend of mine is pregnant and wants to get the flu vaccine... > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------ > College Education > Click for free info on college degrees. > http://tagline.excite.com/fc/JkJQPTgKJ0xnsaFUofnsduy9wHGmpxWsKCLIXpzXw3PcEDLzSPo\ SPm/ > >
