Guest guest
Beth, I am new here too. We are going crazy with diarrhea! My son is 2 years 9 ,months old and has had " toddlers diarrhea " (per our pedi.) for OVER a year a half! We finally had an endoscopy/colonoscopy and he had a colon blockage just as you described. (We did this invasive procedure because we were worried about eosinophlic disorders... as our baby has this.) After 11 days of intense laxatives, Epsom salt baths, etc. we checked him with an x-ray and his blockage has finally cleared! However, we are left with DIARRHEA! Today I had to pick him up from school with diarrhea so badly it was up to his shoulder blades. And on Monday I had to get him again because of diarrhea. So for us, clearing the colon has just left us with MORE DIARRHEA. It has been so frustrating and the pre-school is going to kick him out, I am sure, which is the worst thing for him because he needs to be around other kids his age for the socialization piece! That is why I was looking at the SCD. I found it odd that the SCD allowed berries... which usually causes a severe increase in diarrhea for my son. Any advice? I am reading " Breaking the Vicious Cycle " right now but any advice or insights are appreciated. My son has been GFCF and off 28 other food sensitivities for over 3 months now... but the diarrhea continues and his colon is clear. So my thought is we are still missing something critical. Did your daughter toe walk with the colon blockage? Thanks for your post and message of hope. He seems to have all the doctors stumped.
