Guest guest
Even I would like to know what toys tested toxic for lead. Also would want to know how you got someone to come to your to test for metal levels. Hi Maya, (here's what I posted to another listmate!) We just called the state (WI) health department and told them that our son has been diagnosed as lead poisoning and would like to know the best way to test for lead in our home. They had a lead poisoning specialist come out (free of charge) and he inspected the house. He showed us that our plumbing had lead in the solder joints and that our house was built in '72, and lead didn't start to come out of building materials until '78. He also is going to check our house for radon, since we live in what they call " radon valley " which is a 3 block radius (from the school my son attends) which over 60% of the houses have elevated radon. This guy is pretty straight forward and not really overlly jovial ......so why is he doing all this you ask? When he heard about how we were chelating Ethan and how we were told that he was lead poisoned he couldn't believe that our dan doc didn't tell us to stop until the exposure is eliminated. His jaw just dropped, because he said that Ethans intake of these metals while being chelated is 1000 times greater. He also said that he was concerned that this doctors data company is rattling off reference ranges on metal toxicity for mercury, when in fact one has NEVER been set. He said obviously there is an unsafe level of mercury poisoing but that since there is no provoked ref. range you can't take what these tests tell you to be accurate, b/c they aren't! He even agreed that chelating Ethan ( when lead exposure is gone) would be something that should be done since his shots contained thimerosol.. So I know he's not totally against biomed. He also is sending out a metal toxicologist to come out and talk to us about how metals work in the body and the best ways to chelate. Again, he's only doing this because he intrigued by how completely reckless our clinic has been is determining Ethan's metal toxicity. He had no clue parents were doing these kind of treatments and it honestly scared him. But yeah, we just called the health dept. and told them our son was lead poisoned and they sent someone to us to check the house. ....that's how it all got started. He even has reference book of every toy that was contaminated with lead and recalled, and this week he's coming over with it and we're going through all the toys we have. I did think that was pretty nice! Kate ________________________________ From: mywonderbaby <mywonderbaby@...> Sent: Sunday, December 14, 2008 4:46:28 AM Subject: [ ] Re: Now I'm ticked! Somedays I feel exactly like how you are feeling. Bio-med intervention is our only hope for our kids but sometimes commercialism in form of DAN doctors, supplements is taking advantage of vulnerable parents who are willing to do anything to help their kids out. When I look at my child's supplements, I am like is all of this required and soon found out that my DAN doctor sold some of the supplements to me. Even I would like to know what toys tested toxic for lead. Also would want to know how you got someone to come to your to test for metal levels. Thank you for helping us out with your findings and experience. Thanks, Maya > > We just had a guy from the state department of health come out and test our house for possible exposures to lead. He has a double major in chemistry and microbiology and has been working with lead poisoning for many years. > Now, being a major DAN! advocate I'm thinking this guy isn't going to understand or believe ANYTHING I'm saying. I thought... well I got this Doctors Data test to prove to this guy I know my son is heavy metal poisoned. > He saw it and was aware that the reference range was <5 for lead and mercury, and that Ethan was a 68 (in lead). I'm thinking well now this guy is going to really see how toxic Ethan is. > He brought to my attention that the reference range for unprovoked urine is the same reference range for provoked urine. He showed me how misleading this was and that he found it completely reckless of this company to not provide a provoked urine reference range. By not providing a provoked urine reference range they are making people believe that their children are metal " toxic " when in fact they don't know what level actually constitutes metal toxicity. I looked it up online and N O B O D Y has a provoked urine reference range on mercury. Why? because the data has never been collected. The toxicologist did say that a reference range of over 150 in lead is considered lead toxic. > He also brought to my attention that you should never chelate, while still being exposed to the metal. My DAN doc never told me after he saw Ethan's lead level that we should stop chelating until we stop the exposure. AND I WAS DOING IV-DMPS! I'm really starting to think that some of this dan! crap is a bit too reckless!! > > I decided that since I know for a fact that his shots contained thimerosol, we will chelate only using dmsa since it's much less toxic to the body. oh yeah......AND AFTER WE STOP HIS EXPOSURE TO LEAD!!! > (we are putting filters on the water sources and throwing out all toys that tested positive for lead) > I'm so ticked that they never told me about the exposure to lead while chelating makes you more toxic. > > I'm not even really looking for a response.... just needed to vent. > > Kate > > > > >
