Drop in Centers in 11 Catagory-C districts are going to be closed

" Drop in Centers " in 10 " Catagory-C " districts are going to colapse out of money

for last five months

Dear Forum,

West Bengal State AIDS Prevention and Control Society has not disbursed any fund

to 10 " Drop in Centers(DIC) " after March 2010 managed by District level PLWH

Networks.

The most important activities of those DICs linked with even ART Centers like

Community mobilisation, Address verification, Home visit, lost to followup,

Adherence monitoring, Emergency support,Nutritional support,PLHIV support etc.

are going to collapse completely very soon.

Other than aforesaid activities Advocacy/ Community events/GD/FGD/IEC have

already decreased.

The Networks are facing threats from house owners for due room rents, which may

shut down their office premices.

Staffs and workers are being demoralised about carry out their jobs with pending

five months salary.

Although, WBSACS have disbursed fund to " Catagoty-A and Catagory-B " districts.

Under this circumstances, NACO and WBSACS must take immediate necessary action

to keep their commitment for equality and quality service delevery towards PLWH,

otherwise get ready for the interruption of services.
