One minute film on HIV/ AIDS stigma and discrimination

Dear forum,

In these times when we are patting our backs as a country for making strides in

improving knowledge and awareness on HIV, there is a continuing challenge of

stigma and discrimination faced by those affected by HIV/ AIDS.

To this day we still hear stories of HIV affected persons being turned away from

getting care, being shunned or neglected by their families or communities.

We need to take more steps to acknowledge and address this challenge, so that

more are able to see that a person with HIV has the right to care, treatment and

support, just as a person with any other condition or disease.

Highlighting this issue Kalanjiyam Trust has made some awareness clippings in

Tamil with English subtitles, ‘Ellorukkum Solluvom’ *‘let us tell everyone**’*,

to bring these messages to more people through the voices of children; these

clippings were released by Dr. Suniti of YRG CARE on 23rd November 2009.
