The information that you were given is not true. All employees were given one month of severance pay. AHF has no intention of ending our clinic in Delhi where we have been providing 2nd line treatment to many AIDS activists at AHF's expense for several years when the Indian government would not. Weinstein <.Weinstein@...> __________________ From: snehansu bhaduri <snehansu.bhaduri@...> Dear Mr. , I have connected to my colleagues in Manipur and had spoken to the Positive Womens Network Leader and this are the following response: The AHF program in Manipur “ Churachandpur has registered over 511 clients. AHF has not provided ART but most clients access from government centers. AHF program has a Clinic with part time doctor providing medical treatment, consultations, basic OI medications, counselling. The other valued added services provided by AHF programs are Counselling, Outreach to Hospital other NGOs and rehabilitation centers for IVDUS, Home visits to patients and home counseling, ART education, Treatment preparedness, support groups meetings, adherence support group meetings, IGP for AIDS widows and HIV Testing and condom promotion and advocacy. The services provided for AIDS patients is not just ART treatment and these are provided and are very beneficial for HIV AIDS patients as you know that this are the one that has made successful ART programs. The issues here is not just some salary of few staff but of the larger interest of HIV positive community. The staff also has not got their salary till today and not to talk of severance pay. The accountancy firm of AHF has asked them to sign on a document before they pay them the email of this is available. Few Questions and some points: If ART is not given you don't consider clients register as patients? Isn't it true that patients are registered at the successful AHF program in Churachandpur? Why is the program close when you are still opening Delhi? Does the people in Delhi deserve more services or is Delhi clinic more of a showcase? I know the programs of AHF in Delhi and I wonder why you decide to close Churachandpur which is very interior, even more needed than Delhi which has many many service providers? Is it that AHF has change its policy towards care? AHF is fighting case with NACO for arbitrarily cancelling its MOU in Assam and AHF is closing down the program in Manipur arbitrarily? I am also surprised that the way AHF believe and fight on the Human Rights, Freedom and Respect of HIV Positive People (being an ongoing signatory from India of your different protests and campaigns ) has reflected reversely the way AHF India adopted in this case. It is complete violation of Rights as well as out of any mandatory ethical obligations of any service provider. As a matter of fact now a days 2nd line treatment is available to anybody from nearest Govt. ART Center, if the Nodal Officer (SACEP)approve the requirement. I don't know whether the 2nd line clients of AHF India Cares have this information. Which I came to know from NACO in reply to my queries(Point no.3) sought under Right to Information Act (Pl. find the original document from the following web link http://solutionexchange-un.net.in/aids/resource/res19031002.pdf. ) who are coming from other states to Delhi. Like I am also geting the same from Kolkata. If you have send the money for the month of March and the notice pay, then that must be there through their bank account, but it is not there. I am very saddened at this kind of selective bias which I never expected AHF would do? Has AHF grown too big and lost its initial compassion? Kindly re evaluate yourself and the future AHF is going to take.
