KASHISH 2010 thanks everyone

Hello Everyone !

We are so happy and proud that KASHISH - Mumbai International Queer Film

Festival turned out to be such a stupendous success.

The four days at PVR Juhu and three days at Alliance Francaise witnessed an

unprecedented audience turnout who watched 110 films from 25 countries,

participated in panel discussions, watched the play reading of 'Ek Madhav Baug'

in memory of playwright Chetan Datar that brought tears to eveyones eyes and got

actor Mona Ambegaonkar a standing ovation and took part in the Opening and

Closing events that saw a huge Bollywood celebrity turn out including Celina

Jaitley, Zeenat Aman, Manisha Koirala, Rahul Bose, Sanjay Suri, Purab Kohli

as well as Onir, Manvendra Singh Gohil and Ashok Row Kavi.

The eminent Jury comprising of Suhansini Mulay, Rajit Kapoor, Dolly Thakore,

Mahesh Dattani and Meenakshi Shedde were all praise for the excellent mix of

film programming which they said were truly of international quality.

We will soon upload more information about the festival at

This festival would not have been so successful without enthusiastic

participation by all of you. We do apologize for not having been able to

accommodate all the delegates who came because of limited seating capacity, but

we promise that Kashish will return bigger and better next year, with perhaps

larger screens and more films and events.
