ASHRAY Society for Health and Empowerment is non profit making organization

registered under Governments rules in Jaipur India.

Ashray is dedicated to work for children and women in distress.

ASHRAY is working in the field of Health, HIV and Children. ASHRAY celebrated

15th October 2009 Global Hand Washing Day with 80 street children of Railway

station and slum area. These children lives in open and do not have proper home

and shelter. They are collecting empty mineral water bottles, Rag picking, Boot

polish and earning little money .

Those who are living with parents in open are giving money to parents the

runaway children used money on food, cinema, sniffing, drugs etc. ASHRAY is

constantly working with them and by psychosocial support changing their mind

set. Ashray is providing free health services, cloths, woolens, food, formal

education, recreation etc.

Washing of hand is very improtant for those infected with HIV as proper and

frequent washing of hands may prevent several opertunistic infections. So

ASHARAY tries to gave message through street children.

ASHRAY trained the children to wash their hand with soap before taking food and

after defecation. Children were given soaps and water and trained to wash the

hand properly. After this event all were given light refreshment sponsored by

local Mobile dealer. Amit and Sangeeta was main worker in organizing the event.
