Guest guest
Dear all, Re: /message/11907 This is happening in maharashtra state also. i think it is the time to evaluate ourself as national, state and also district level networks. Are we working for our PLHIVs without funds? the answer is 'no'. we are fighting for funds. and this is the result of that. i hope we will change in our attitude. Guest guest
Dear Forum Members, /message/11907 This is an addendum to Shelter’s sharing in this forum. It has been in the air for quite sometime about the continuation of ACT- R4/R6 as RCC and much water has flown since the initiation of the proposal for RCC by PFI and its consortium. Today, I used to hear that the district networks in some of the states are approached to take up the responsibilities for RCC by PFI. It is good if the DLNs come forward to take initiatives in this direction. But, what made PFI to take this course is a question in millions’ mind. Who have been responsible for the current strengths of DLNs? INP+ and SLNs provided the leadership to the whole comity of people living with HIV in India neither in a day or two, nor in two or three years but in decades. All these leaders struggled to build up a network as strong as it’s today. They put all energy and efforts to make DLNs as they are capable of this day. This is the ripe time to get the entire network action focused to make the world know of what GIPA means. But, the fruits of these are again seemed to be deprived. PFI taking shelters behind DLNs leaving their apex bodies doomed reminds me the freedom of India. India got freedom at the cost of division. Still it affects and continues to affect through 26/11. Let there not be lacking of vision in taking up RCC down to the district. Managing a CBO is not like managing a society or a corporate where the wishes of the few would always prevail. A CBO is functioning like a democratic government with all its plus and minus. They are activists and not management professionals. They need great support despite their performance. There is no time limit. Let us look at the reservation of SC/ST. It was envisaged for just 10 years. But even today it seems to be quiet essential. Similar is the condition of any CBO. It is not the leaders alone but the whole community of PLHIV becomes disintegrated due to this small and petty move. Let us straight away talk to the people and address the issues. Let us not go through the back door just because we want something to happen as we wish. It is the question of millions in India and not whims of a few at the helm. Guest guest
Re: /message/11907 I agree with Mr. Shaligram and Mr. Boopathy, I know the time since when the movement of PLHIV started, people came forward to help other PLHIV, to fight against Stigma and Discrimination, and to Protect Human Rights of PLHIV's. they came forward and work Voluntary. But now the whole scenario has changed, in my observation since GFATM round 4 and 6 started people changed their mind, and Aim, they started fighting, miscommunication and lots of other things. Everyone at National , State level, District level Leader and representative should understand that the Organization is a big umbrella and projects and Program are for organization, it will come and go. But the organizations always remain as organization is having its identity and recognition. In this also I saw a positive side at least people recognised wrong and right things and they raised their voice.
