Gujarat State Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (GSNP+) MOU with +ve MSM/Transgender (TG)

Gujarat State Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (GSNP+) is the state level

network of People Living with HIV/AIDS and is affiliated to Indian Network of

People Living with HIV/AIDS (INP+). GSNP+ was formed on 6th February 2003 under

the society registration act and has its presence in 24 districts through

District Level Network out of which 22 districts has been registered and is

affiliated to GSNP+.

 

State Women Forum which is the body working for the rights of HIV positive women

and children in the state is also affiliated to GSNP+. GSNP+ has always shown

interest and is ready to work for the marginalized group and strengthen it.

 

Organization is always ready to help and provide advocacy for positive Men

having Sex with Men (MSM) and Commercial Sex Worker (CSW) and have always been

keen to provided right platform for them.

 

It’s the matter of honor that on the event of  Annual General Meeting on 27th

August 2010 GSNP+ has signed MOU with 'Pallivat Noukhu Aikhu' which works for

positive MSM/Transgender (TG) in the state of Gujarat. And now 'Pallivat Noukhu

Aikhu' is been affiliated to GSNP+ and through this action the unity and

strength of positive people in Gujarat has been proved.

This will accelerate the efforts at grass root level where HIV positive women,

children, MSM and TG would be reached and new cases of HIV infection can be

reduced.

 

'Pallivat Noukhu Aikhu' was established at Rajkot by 'Lakshya trust' in June

2008. It has been working in 5 district of Gujarat and after been affiliated to

GSNP+ it would reach to every district of Gujarat.

 

We sincerely thank to Lakshya trust, Gujarat State AIDS Control Society (GSACS)

and all other who have shown their interest to bring the community under one

umbrella, where the prime focus is to serve the positive people in the state of

Gujarat.

This mail is fishy? Why GSNP+ is showing concern towards the MSM, Is it a road

map to be the partner for the share in the Round 9 MSM Project?

 

Being a MSM many of them know about the games played by some of the CCM members.

 

Whether DG NACO and other chief functionaries at NACO will allow these vested

interest people to stake a claim in the round 9, when Positive networks

allegations are sounding a lot for the past 6 months, why this group again fight

for the bone/money which is allocated to the Community.

 

Learned people in the forum should understand the ground work played by the CCM

members to grap the opportunity from the hands of the MSM community, the other

partners in the round 9 should not allow any new comers, except the small

organization, who really works and be the part of the any National network.

 

If funds are channelised to these new new MoU, we the community will point on

NACO and CCM only.

 

Let the community enjoy the benefit, Jindabhad, Jai hind,

 

We will fight unitedly and our representatives will take this matter to board

and world bank.

I think that closer involvement of positive MSM in the larger network of PLHIV

is indicative of a non-judgemental and sensitive approach towards the situation.

Nothing else should and needs to be read between the lines.Finances are the

means to the ends -for the committed stand many are working for.

Why the response is coming from your end? What kind of work had been done for

the MSM community by GSNP in the past?

 

This efforts are to grab the opportunity for squandering the money?

 

Wait and see whether they need money or the community cause?

 

We the community is better in a position to understand the motives of the CCM

members than the people like you. If tomorrow some money had been allocated by

NACO or Global fund for IDUs these Positive networks will come forward to sign

the MoU with such groups also.

 

Do not support the faction of people who are pretending to be the stewards of

MSM/FSW/IDUs.

 

Let the community involvement and engagement will serve the purpose.
