Vacancy for post of Liaison Officer

Dear Forum Members,

Ashodaya Samithi, a sex workers’ organization comprising female, male and

transgender sex workers and with head office at Mysore invites applications from

suitable persons for the post of Liaison Officer.

The Liaison Officer will report to the Board of Directors, Ashodaya Samithi and

will have the following role:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop rapport with district and state authorities to liaise for support to

initiatives of sex workers.

2. Coordinate and involve in District, State and National level advocacy efforts

on issues related to sex workers.

3. Assist in networking with sex workers’ CBOs across the country and

coordinate meetings and discussions between them.

4. Assist in building meaningful alliance with groups that would be of support

to sex workers across the nation.

5. Assist in planning and implementing advocacy initiatives for CBOs at National

level.

Qualification:

Applicants with Bachelors / Masters in any Social Science related discipline can

apply. They should possess a good understanding of different issues of sex

workers and be able to takes sides with sex workers. Communication and

negotiation skills would also be an essential requirement to enable discharge

duties. Ability to coordinate with other sex worker groups is a prerequisite and

Knowledge of English and at least two/three regional languages would be an

additional advantage.

1. A good understanding about issues of sex workers.

2. Self-motivated, willingness and ability to take sides of the sex workers

3. Willingness to travel.

Desired Work Experience:

5 years experience in working for sex workers and advocating their rights.
