Guest guest Posted March 19, 2010 Report Share Posted March 19, 2010 International Treatment Preparedness Coalition-India (ITPC-India) International Treatment Preparedness Coalition-India (ITPC-India) formed in September 2008 is a national coalition of people living with HIV, treatment activists, doctors, lawyers, academia, etc.; all of whom have strong expertise in HIV and AIDS treatment and other interventions needed by affected communities in their own settings. ITPC-India is structured as a national network designed to support community mobilisation through combining knowledge of grassroots community’s needs with technical expertise about HIV treatment, care, and support. The goal of ITPC-India is to “Accelerate treatment access in India through advocacy and treatment literacyâ€. ITPC-India plans to advocate and contribute to the National ARV program by involving and providing scientific information and strategic direction. Broad Objectives of ITPC-India 1. To carry out advocacy for access to medicine and treatment at national level 2. To provide input to the National ARV program by active involvement and provision of scientific information and strategic direction. 3. To advocate for treatment of all opportunistic infections and Hepatitis-C 4. To advocate with government, policy makers and other important stake holders for sensitising them and soliciting their support to advocate for proper, adequate and equity based supply of 2nd line treatment. 5. To work on patent issues in India as they impact access to treatment. JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Coordinator (For 1 year with extension based on performance) Location : Delhi Reports to Vice Chair ITPC-India Primary Roles & Responsibility The Coordinator while being responsible for ensuring the quality implementation, monitoring and reporting of all ongoing projects of ITPC-India, will also work towards addressing the above stated broad objective of ITPC-India. Networking and alliance building with Government bodies and key stakeholders (national & international) will be a major role. Specific Tasks/Responsibilities: Coordinate communication of the working committee ITPC-India, monitor and contributing to listserv discussions, organizing conference calls, distributing information/reports and materials for review. Maintaining a current contact list for ITPC-India working committee members Help facilitate the selection of new ITPC-India working committee member when necessary with support from the existing ITPC-India working committee members. Collate and assimilate treatment related issues from across the country and internationally and disseminate to the working committee members for further action. Work closely with other stakeholders at the state and national level. (stakeholders would include networks of marginalized community, donors and Govt. agencies) To update treatment related issues to ITPC-India and international on a regular basis. However, update on ITPC-INDIA should only be reported to ITPC International after approval from the working committee. Building networking relationship with various stakeholders at National and International level. Represent ITPC-India on behalf of the working committee in Meetings/Forum/Conference/Media briefing/workshop, etc as and when required and requested by the Working Committee. Ensure timely programmatic and financial reporting as per the requirement of various agencies supporting ITPC-India. Work towards sustainability plan of ITPC-India through proposal development and fund raising. Develop annual action plan with budget in consultation with the working committee for further action. Facilitate meetings/workshops and other events in consultation with the working committee. This would include logistic, travel, and other required arrangement. Documentation of all programs/events and processes of ITPC-India and maintaining proper records for final reporting. Work closely with Collaborative fund programs in India and ITPC International. Developing ITPC-India website. Educational Qualification & Experience Graduate and above (Preferably with Sociology or Social work background) 5 years of experience in HIV & AIDS sector with strong focus on advocacy Proficiency in  MS Office (Word, PP, Excel and Internet explorer) Strong command of written and spoken English Strong presentation skill Strong leadership quality with ability to face multi community and stakeholders Application submission and dateline All application should be submitted along with the below documents to Mr. Loon Gangte, Vice-Chair, ITPC-India at perminder.hoon@... on or before 5pm, 31st March 2010.
