Guest guest
Greetings! As part of the Knowledge FAN project supported by UNAIDS, India several young people and communities across Manipur and Nagaland are preparing to conduct a first-of-its-kind knowledge sharing festival in the north east (see attached project brief). The Knowledge FAN festival will be held in Imphal, Manipur on 9-10 March, 2010. We would like to invite you to kindly join us at this event please. The Knowledge FAN event is designed to support youth- and community-led knowledge exchange; promote cross-community and community-to-stakeholder dialogue; and facilitate networking based on local knowledge about HIV, health and human rights issues. The first phase of Knowledge FAN involved a capacity building workshop held in Dimapur, Nagaland, which focused on use of knowledge sharing tools and processes. The second phase of the project involves building a youth- and community-led knowledge sharing, advocacy and mobilisation platform in the north east. The upcoming Knowledge FAN festival is a critical step toward establishing this unique community-led advocacy platform. The north east knowledge festival is expected to bring together several hundred young people, communities and stakeholders from across Manipur and Nagaland to celebrate knowledge in a festive, mainstream environment. Several organisations, networks and groups, including the project's 25 (sub/)partners, the UN and UN-partners, legal and legislative bodies, Governments, media, youth and community leaders and others will engage with the event. We hope you will join us at the event in Imphal, Manipur next week.
