Congrtulations to Sr Bidget Philip and to SNR Hospital.  I have visited this

centre.  The collaboration and net working is praise worthy and effective.  I

hope more of such net working takes place in India. I give below a few thoughts

which inspired me when I visited  Smagra CCC unit in SNR Hospital Kolar.

 

Samagra  CCC seems to have ignited the interest of the medical faculty there in

all the departments to care for the PLHAS without any discrimination.

Systematic care of the PLHAs especially the poor  with timely  treatment of

OIs,  timely CD count and ART, together with nutrional supplements , continuous

and proper nursing care, and counselling to the patients and the family members 

surely  add  life to years of the PLHAs.

The combined effort of the Government and the NGOS bring about quality care with

compassion and competence.  Cost effectvenss too was very evident there through

this united endeavour.

I wish that many more NGOs working with HIV/AIDS Programme tie up with tertiary

Hospitals of the Government to wipe away discrimiation towards this global

epidemic, to give care with compassion and competence , as well as to bring

about cost effectiveness.
