It is a welcome change for an Australian NGO to adhere to democratic norms and elect an Asian as the president of ASAP. Hope Mr Zahid Hussein’s election will usher new changes in ASAP particularly more inclusiveness in its membership, transparency and public accountability] _______________________ Dear All, I am pleased to inform you all that Mr Zahid Hussein of Sustainable Resource Foundation, Pakistan, has been duly elected as the President of AIDS Society of Asia and the Pacific effective from 1 December 2009. The announcement was made by the outgoing President of ASAP, Mr Myung-Hwan Cho Today via an email sent to all members of ASAP. I would like to congratulate Zahid Hussain on his election and welcome him to the presidency of ASAP.
