arm for ART treatment programs. AHF India Cares began its work providing free

ART drugs and treatment services since 2004.

In New Delhi `Center of Excellence' dedicated in March 2007 tapped the skills

and experience of HIV specialists, healthcare providers working in tandem and

provide `Free' HIV medical care and support services. Health, Healing and Hope

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

AIDS Healthcare Foundation India Cares is looking for committed and focused

individual for the position of Prevention Programs Coordinator to provide

leadership for its unique HIV testing initiative Called Ehsäs. This initiative

employs cutting-edge technology to conduct rapid testing using 60 seconds test

kits, thus creating awareness of the HIV epidemic among the general population

in India, especially among those at high risk through extensive community

outreach and appropriate follow up and treatment. This is an extension of AIDS

Healthcare Foundation's global initiative to " Testing Millions Campaign " around

the world.

This individual oversees AHF India Cares HIV prevention programs, including

implementation of HIV intervention; HIV counseling, testing and referral;

Liaising and maintain relationship with partner organizations.

Position # Prevention Programs Coordinator

Key qualifications:

• Master degree in social sciences, MPH or development field.

• At least three (3 to 5) years of relevant experience in the management of

HIV/AIDS and other public health related programs.

• Must be sensitive to issues of diversity, including sexual orientation and

gender identity.

• Must posses an adequate computer skills including use of internet / e-mail

application and MS-Office software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.;

• Ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple priorities while working as

part of a team;

• Team player service-minded and able to work under pressure;

• Available to start working in July 2010

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Monitor Program Activities in relation to AHF India Cares and HIV Testing

Initiative objectives.

• Collate data for reports.

• Keep accurate records of activities.

• Regular updates of status by daily, weekly and monthly reports.

• Represent agency in applicable forums and meetings.

• Develop/Sustain relations with community agencies and leaders.

• Train HIV Testing Staff/Outreach Workers.

• Participate in planning activities, staff meetings, organize community

meetings.

• Plan/maintain calendar of events for programs.

• Assist other supervisors in their duties as needed.

• Research and assist with program grant writing related to HIV testing.

• Supervise/ Monitor materials inventory.

• Provide Structured Individual Supervision of HIV Testing staff.

• Monitor expenses for directly supervised HIV Testing programs run across the

country.

• Ensure results are followed up in all sites and necessary referrals of those

tested positive.

• Ensure timely data entry on activities and/or in-house databases.

• Develop indicators and monitoring and evaluation tool for the testing

initiative.

• Specific HIV Testing related activities including but not limited to:

a. Facilitate Workshops.

b. Train Volunteer Facilitators.

c. Provide HIV Test Counseling to clients.

d. Assist/Coordinate HIV/STD Testing events.

e. Monitor/review HIV Testing client files for accuracy.

f. Ensure testing records are submitted to Country Project Coordinator.

g. Provide appropriate referrals to clients.

h. Facilitate client/volunteer surveys.

i. Assist with Special Projects.

j. Ability and willingness to undertake extensive travel within India.

• Other duties as assigned by the Country Project Coordinator.

Position # Prevention Programs Assistant

Key qualifications:

• Master degree in social sciences, MPH or development field.

• At least three (1 to 3 years of relevant experience in the management of

HIV/AIDS and other public health related programs.

• Must be sensitive to issues of diversity, including sexual orientation and

gender identity.

• Must possess an adequate computer skills including use of internet / e-mail

application and MS-Office software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.;

• Ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple priorities while working as

part of a team;

• Team player service-minded and able to work under pressure;

• Available to start working in July 2010

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide support to all Prevention Programs related Activities and HIV Rapid

Testing Initiative.

• Assist and promote AHF India Cares Prevention and testing Programs.

• Collect data from testing partner organizations and compile for reports.

• Maintain accurate records of testing programs activities.

• Follow up telephonic calls and email correspondence with existing Testing

Initiative Partners.

• Network and identify potential partners who work with IDUs, MSM and sex work.

• Regular updates of status by daily, weekly and monthly reports.

• Represent in applicable forums, meetings and conferences.

• Develop and Sustain relations with CBOs and its leaders.

• Train HIV Testing Staff and new Partner organizations.

• Participate in planning activities, staff meetings, organize community

meetings.

• Plan and maintain calendar of events for programs.

• Maintain appropriate inventory of testing kits etc

• Ensure timely data entry on activities and/or in-house databases.

• Specific HIV Testing related activities including but not limited to:

a. Assist to facilitate Workshops.

b. Provide HIV Test Counseling to clients.

c. Assist/Coordinate HIV/STD Testing events.

d. Ensure testing records are submitted to Country Project Coordinator.

e. Provide appropriate referrals to clients.

f. Facilitate client/volunteer surveys.

g. Assist with Special Projects.

h. Ability and willingness to undertake extensive travel within India.

• Other duties as assigned by the Country Project Coordinator.

Position # 2: Nurse

Key Qualifications:

• Graduate in GNM.

• At least 2 to 3 years experience working in nursing care in hospital or

clinics

• An experience in nursing care for HIVAIDS patients would be recommended.

• Must possess an adequate computer skills including use of internet/ e-mail

application and MS-Office software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc..

• Ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple priorities while working as

part of a team.

• Team player service-minded and able to work under pressure.

• Available to start working in July 2010

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing cares services in the field and at the clinic when needed.

• Provide nursing cares related assistance to the HIV testing team.

• Provide nursing related assistance to the clients at the testing programs.

• Provide basic counseling for HIV related issues including universal

precautions for the testing staff.

• Maintain basic medications and first aid in the HIV mobile testing van.

• Maintain and manage the PEP drugs.

• Maintain basic inventory of first aid kit, medications and testing kits.

• Perform phlebotomy and collection of blood sample for CD4/Viral load when

necessary.

• Conducts individuals and group education session on providing basic nursing

cares for HIV patients.

• Conduct hands on training on nursing skills for families HIV support groups

and to other healthcare providers.

• Dispense medication OIs and ART through the pharmacy.

• Participate in CME, medical staff meeting and testing team meetings.

• And other tasks as assign.

Compensation and Benefits
