Quacks and ART adhearence

Dear Forum,

I would like to appreciate   Delhi Bhartiya Chitksaya Parishad (Registered) team

for their  action against 83 Quack/Fake doctors operating in  Delhi.

Most of this  quack doctors do not  produce the certificate to the officials

..There are more then 40,000 (Forty Thousand) Quack doctors illegally practising

in Delhi (Delhi Govt.Report).

My serious concern is that there are similar quacks practising in the other part

of the country and PLHIV on ART are prey to these quacks, who misguide  and

squeeze money  from them.

The situation is worst in remote, tribal and hilly areas of the country. This

quacks demand Rs 2000 to 5000 depending on the financial condition of the PLHIV

and they also give false promises of curing and treating the disease.

Most of this PLHIV lack basic education on ART and especially on the need of

follow up, treatment literacy. I am receiving many calls from the PLHIV's &

Network's regarding the increase in ART defaulters and misguidance by the Quake

/fake doctors.

At this juncture NACO and SACS need to push the state police, IMA, state medical

council in addressing this serious concern. NACO and SACS have to strengthen the

linkages with these organisations to ensure that PLHIV are not the target for

the quack doctors, other than this NACO should constitute a task force to take

necessary step.

 

The serious thought that emerges is

  

Who is responsible for Fake/Quack doctors

Who will take the initiative

Why  not we make an Action-Plan against Fake/Quack doctors
