Position Description:

The Training Coordinator will responsible for organising and coordinating the

range of training programmes held at the NFI Regional Centre, developing

training agendas, identifying appropriate facilitators from the NFI regional

team (including himself), support in-country technical advisors in developing

their training agendas, monitor and evaluate all training programmes, and

produce relevant reports. Further he will liaise with the Knowledge Team in

developing additional training manuals and tools specific to the needs of NFI

and its MSM and sexual health programme.

Summary of responsibilities:

• Liaising with the Technical Support Manager to

o Plan and coordinate the range of training activities held at the NFI Regional

Training Centre under the GFATM regional project

o Assess the capacity and learning needs of the In-Country Technical Advisors

and provide capacity development programmes to meet these neess.

o Plan and guide the strategic direction of the training and capacity

development requirements of NFI regional team, along with NFI's country partners

o Refine, define and develop training structure to assure skills and capacity of

a range stakeholders and support NFI country partners in designing and

developing their own training programmes

o Manage the development and coordination of training curricula, manuals and

educational tools

o Development and implementation of quality assurance mechanisms to monitor and

assess training activities and systems

o Development and implementation of training needs assessment tools

o Development of post training provider assessments, including assessment of

skills

• With the technical support team design, and develop training agendas and

programmes in line with programme activities and needs.

• Coordinate with the NFI regional programme team to identify appropriate

in-house facilitators for these training programmes, along with acting as a

training facilitator as required.

• Liaise with the Knowledge Unit to ensure that appropriate training tools are

developed and available for use in these training programmes.

• Provide regular modifications of training curricula, manuals, etc. based on

training needs and post training assessments

• Manage the NFI Regional Training Centre, ensuring that it is adequately

supplied.

• Other duties as required

Skills and qualifications required:

• A proven understanding and experience of the issues of MSM and sexual health

issues in South Asia.

• At least three-five years of experience of working with HIV/AIDS and MSM

related work in South Asia, including programme design and implementation,

reporting, monitoring and evaluation, financial and human resource management,

with an in-depth experience of working with MSM.

• Proven experience and skills in providing training on MSM and sexual health

issues.

• Graduate or higher degree from a recognised university, preferably in health

or social sciences.

• Sound computer skills, including the use of the internet and MS Office

• Ability to work independently and as a team player in a complex multi-cultural

environment with demonstrated leadership, communication, networking and

presentation capabilities.

• Strong English written, oral, communication and writing and documentation

skills; ability to present information effectively to various audiences, large

and small; and sound computer literacy skills.

Will report to the Regional Technical Support Manager.

Remuneration:

Salary package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, and

budgetary requirements.
