New GSNP+ board is elected thorough a democratic, transparent and participatory system

Dear All,

On August 27th 2010, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Gujarat State Network

of People Living with HIV/AIDS (GSNP+) was organized at Preksha Bharati,

Gandhinagar.

113 Board members of 22 District Level Network (DLN) from the state of Gujrat

actively participate in the AGM of GSNP+.

AGM was supported by Gujrat State AIDS control society (GSACS) in the presence

of  Dr. Rajesh Gopal (Joint Director of GSACS), Mr. Pradip Gupta (Asst. Project

Director, GSACS) as a chief guest.

Mrs. Snehalata Bhatia (Project Officer from Surat AIDS Prevention Control

Unit-SAPCU), Mr. Irfan Bilakhiya (former State Coordinator of GSNP+), and Mr.

Dharmesh Jadav (Project Coordinator of Network of Surat People Living with

HIV/AIDS-NSP+) were among the election committee members.

Former Secretary of GSNP+, Mr. Pratik Raval presented Annual Report and Ms.

Geeta Chitroda, Gen.Secretary presented financial report of GSNP+ for 2009-2010.

Election committee facilitated the overall election process to the present board

members of District Level Networks. 18 people were nominated among themselves to

contest for the election zonal wise.

Nine board members were elected zone wise and there names and designations are

given below for your information.

We are proud to announce that six board members are active and strong women.

This is the great example of women empowerment and also the second line leaders

of our PLHIV movement.

 

We thank all our GSACS, our 22 DLN representatives and all well wishers for

their guidance and support to GSNP+ and our new board.
