HIV TB coinfection increases in Tamilnadu

Dear Forum,

Recently the Tamilnadu health secretary has told that the HIV-TB coinfection is

increasing in the western belt and especially in Salem, Namakkal and Karur

districts. Will TANSACS come out with exact numbers and the plan for reducing

the coinfection.

All these three districts received lot of HIV prevention and care programs in

the past.

Media persons at these said districts should probe the reasons and come out with

articles so as to make the concerned officials to take notice of this serious

issue.

Hope TANSACS will respond to this and find out the reason.
