Population Council invites competent individuals to work on a project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to provide technical assistance on community mobilization survey and analyses. The incumbent will assist the individuals on designing softwares, short and/or collated databases, statistical or bio-statistical data analysis. With knowledge and skills in using software such as SPSS, Epi-Info, SAS and STATA, s/he will assist in developing data management and analyses capacity related to behavioral tracking survey and will undertake individual quantitative analysis and support the implementing partners requiring statistical analysis support on regular basis. Collaborate with the individuals from partner institutions to develop collaborative approaches to data analyses. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Assist the Avahan implementing partners in statistical analyses of the survey data · Support professionals from partner agencies on development of statistical codes, development of common variables for databases to allow cross-comparison, hands-on assistance to statistical analyses · Organize raw data in forms suitable for analyses · Training professionals on statistical analyses using some of the standard statistical softwares. · Assist the implementing partners in review and interpretation of the statistical results · Develop the analysis plan to conduct special analysis on community mobilization · Assist the SLPs in developing peer-reviewed papers based on BTS data. QUALIFICATIONS: · Advanced university degree in biostatistics, applied statistics, statistics or related fields. · At least 3-5 years of experience in analyzing large scale datasets, data from clinical studies involving small samples. · Working knowledge on data base management of studies related to HIV · Work experience in theories and principles associated with statistical analysis, data entry systems, and database management to provide analytical support for various studies as well as provide related data analyses services. · Work experience with multiple institutions and demonstrated experience in providing support on both qualitative and quantitative data analyses. · Strong written communication skills to prepare statistical reports, analyses and interpretation of results are essential. · Strong knowledge of statistical softwares such as SPSS, SAS, Epi-Info, STATA are essential. · Knowledge in qualitative data analyses softwares such as Atlas.ti, Nvivo is desirable.
