Dear All,

Greetings from KNP+, Orissa.

December 1 marks the 21st anniversary of World AIDS Day. A total of 33

million people now live with HIV and AIDS, and more than 18,500 nos.

of them live in the ODISHA and 2.3-2.5 million in India.

This year’s World AIDS Day theme, “Universal Access and Human Rights,”

is being highlighted in events around the globe by the “LIGHT FOR

RIGHTS” campaign, organized by The American Foundation for AIDS

Research (amfAR), The Foundation for AIDS Research; UNAIDS; the World

AIDS Campaign; and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The campaign is encouraging people in cities everywhere to dim the

lights on key landmarks to remember the devastating affect AIDS has

had on us all, and to turn the lights back on to illuminate the

fundamental human rights we all share but that are often denied people

living with HIV.

KALINGA NETWORK FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV (KNP+) is a Community Base

Organization of People Living With HIV in Odisha, Organizing the

“LIGHT FOR RIGHTS” Campaign in collaboration with the SAATHII through

it’s Property ownership & Legal Literacy (POLL) Project in Odisha at:

EKAMRA HAAT, UNIT- 3, BHUBANEWAR, ORISSA

TIME: 06.00 P.M. TO 07.30 P.M. ON 1ST DECEMBER 2010

We cordially are inviting you all to participate in this Campaign and

light a candle for the rights of people living with HIV.

With warm regards

Ajay Patra
