Guest guest
Dear All I had said this long before in 2001 when I had drafted PPCT module for training. Nevirapine is not enough for PPTCT since it all depends on when the drug is given ( 3-4 hrs prior to delivery) time taken for actin. Secondly the viral load of the mother if it is yoo high, Nevirapine does not work. So I had suggested that along with CD4 count Viral load should be done in all mother. But NACO and UNICEF all neglect saying it worked in S Africa, Why can't it in India. That time S Africa follow up report was not available. It was too short time to evaluate the efficacy OF ANY TRIAL. Any way lesson is learnt but at the cost. At leat change the policy now.
