The news of Dr. Upadhyay's demise comes as a shock as well as is

saddening.

During the short span of 2-3 years that I had known him in

Delhi, I had developed immense respect for his clinical acumen and his mild and

amicable demeanor.

He was senior to me as a physician and a HIV treatment provider yet with all his

humility he always acted as a friend.

I am at a loss of words to express my sorrow of losing such a friend. I

believe, like me, many in Delhi (and elsewhere) - both PLHAs and treatment

providers must be grieved by the loss of his humble and charming presence.

May his soul rest in peace !

May God grant his bereaved family and friends the strength to cope with his loss

!
