Guest guest
Dear Forum members I would like to share that while forum is a good mechanism to highlight and solve issues related to PLHIV but we also have to be responsible enough to verify facts before dashing off a posting to forum. This issue was personally discussed by BNP + person with me on phone and then with GIPA coordinator at Bihar SACS and it was assured that ART has not been stopped in Bihar. How can it be stopped like this? While it is a fact there has been some shortages of drugs at some centres due to delay in procurement by the new procurement agency, RITES, but the CST division at NACO along with NACO regional coordinators have been monitoring the situation on day to day basis and many times twice or thrice a day and arranging relocations from other sites through courier, care coordinators and Clinton Foundation. All Regional coordinators and SACS officials have taken this issue on top priority. I am personally in touch with INP President, DNP, ITPC and other active members of network The new patients are being registered at all centers in Bihar. The information collected from Bihar over last three days registration is a s below No. of patients received ART services over last 3 days at ARTCs in Bihar Total No. of new case registerd & total no. of Drug dispense Art Centre Name Total Number of Patient Total Number of Patient New registerd Drug desp. 8th Mar'11 9th Mar'11 10th Mar'11 8th Mar'11 9th Mar'11 10th Mar'11 PMCH Patna 7 8 6 54 39 66 RMRIMS, Patna 5 2 5 45 47 58 SKMCH, Patna 6 5 10 60 74 56 DMCH, Patna 3 3 3 56 53 64 JLNMCH, Bhagalpur 4 3 5 21 27 15 ANMMCH, Gaya 14 0 0 21 10 11 This forum is working to facilitate the PLHAs in getting the quality service and keeping all of us aware of any new issues/ initiative taken anywhere in India for benefit of PLHA This is highly irresponsible to write that “ART has been stopped and Nobody has right to play with the life of PLHIVs in Biharâ€..Such irresponsible and baseless information flashing by any member just to make himself highlighted should be taken seriously and condemned . This is not going to benefit the PLHA care & treatment services and at the same time very discouraging to service providers at ART centre and SACS officials . NACO has shown full commitments to provide all possible assistance to PLHIV and to work together with beneficiaries in a way which is an example in itself and we stand commit to the cause of containing the epidemic and Universal access to Care , support and treatment for PLHIV Thanks Dr B.B.Rewari MD,FRCP, FICP,FIACM,FIMSASr.Physician,Dr RML Hospital & National Programme Officer (ART)National AIDS Control Organisation, 6th Floor, Chandralok Building, 36, Janpath, New Delhi-110001Tel; 011-23731954, 43509999(O) Mobile ; 91-9811267610Fax : 011-23731954,23731746

(Editor) We always appreciate any feedback for improving quality and feedback on shortage of drugs, kits is appreciated . At NACO we do not agree with your statement that Awakened Activist bring problems in the Eyes of Government But information must be factual and not made sensational just for the sake of it Thanks Dr B.B.Rewari MD,FRCP, FICP,FIACM,FIMSA Sr.Physician,Dr RML Hospital & National Programme Officer (ART) National AIDS Control Organisation, 6th Floor, Chandralok Building, 36, Janpath, New Delhi-110001 Tel; 011-23731954, 43509999(O) Mobile ; 91-9811267610 Fax : 011-23731954,23731746 e-mail: <drbbrewari@...>
Guest guest
Dear Forum, Greetings. Re: /message/12603 According to " Dr Diwakar Tejaswi " s posting regarding the Big Rally of PLHIVs in Patna on 16th March at Patna, had been done by the Bihar Network People Living with HIV/AIDS where 1500 plhivs gathered. They raised some demands in that day. My question is why they did it because these are all long pending. Out of all long pending demands uninterrupted supply of ART was also there. So it is clear that there was interruption supply of ART. That means what I posted regarding ART supply in Bihar was not a wrong statement. Thaks and Regards, Tarit. Tarit Chakraborty. Guest guest
Dear Forum, Re: /message/12623 The factual information is that in Tamilnadu, ART stock is not as per guidelines. there are some centres issuing 15 days drug, some ART centre having only 2 week stock. NACO can see what is wrong with procurement and TANSACS can come out and explain the real situation and action taken for this to the PLHIV which is their DUTY. I think there are regional level coordinators and they need to be responsible enough to providing information to the beneficiary. No point in just covering up the issue. Nobody is blaming anybody. But just want to know the stock position and a promise for continued supply of ART for the beneficiaries, and it is their basic right to know about this. Dr. S.Raman. Guest guest
Hello All, Re: /message/12623 We are very unhappy to know about the situation on distribution of ART medicine in Chennai, Firstly our concern is for the people who have to travel long distance(Tambram) to get second level ART. People using the medicine for a hope of living and over coming discrimination at work places and society. Moreover, if the medication is given for Bi Weekly PLH people havce to face economic situations too... taking leave from their work for every two three weeks can also effect thier jobs and pockets too. We sincerely request a remedy for this situation, As an Organization we are always ready to take part in any action or protest to be taken to resolve this issue.
