Guest guest
PLHIV and TB Patients Innovate for Greater Involvement - You're invited to Berlin! The world's first 'TB Tweet-Up' will take place on the 11th of November from the WHO Stop TB Symposium, November 11, 2010, on the opening day of the 41st Union World Lung Conference in Berlin. Live & Direct: A group of comrades from Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe will be relaying and reporting what is happening at this important annual Conference, to encourage 'greater involvement' in issues related to TB, TB-HIV, MDR and Human Rights. Reaching out to marginalized language groups, such as speakers of Hindi, French, Russian, Bahasa Indonesia as well as in English, this groundbreaking 'TB-Tweet-Up' will 'connect' those who cannot be in Berlin, but are affected by these pandemic diseases. Some two million of our comrades die each year of a 'curable' disease, tuberculosis. Millions of others will suffer from the toxic drugs and faulty diagnostics. Half a million people will die this year from drug resistant TB, most not even aware of what is painfully killing them. Tuberculosis is the cause of death of over half of the PLHIV who die each year, and there are too few activists and advocates pushing from the bottom-up in a top-down system of TB 'Control'. Taking new and innovative steps forward, the iMAXi ative and the World Care Council Collective are organizing this first 'TB Tweet-Up' to inform, and to invite your comments and views. You can bring to this exclusive Conference some realities from the community, and your participation helps the drive for greater accountability and 'openness'. Come online the 11th of November. If you are on Twitter, please follow @StopTB_Unity and @IMAXICoop from 09h00 (CET) on Thursday, 11 November.
