Guest guest
Dear Friends and Colleagues, Rajasthan Network of People living with HIV (RNP+) in partnership with IMPACT is implementing a project for ensuring specific rights of women living with HIV and children affected by HIV. As a part of this work, we have prepared a draft towards a state-level policy for Rajasthan. We plan to advocate with the Government of Rajasthan to ratify and implement it. RNP+ and IMPACT has conducted a series of activities to collect information to feed into the policy. The background work included community consultations and focused groups discussions, socio-economic and health assessment, and policy and legal environment analysis. Based on the findings of these activities, we constituted a group of experts from relevant fields to come together and prepare the draft. The 12-page draft “Towards a Policy for Women Living with HIV and Children Affected by HIV in Rajasthan†is available at ftp://ftp.solutionexchange.net.in/public/aids/resource/res10111001.pdf (PDF, Size: 384 KB). We invite members of Solution Exchange to share their inputs and suggestions on the draft. We would like you to give particular attention to the following four sections of the draft document: 1. Reaffirming the existing policy provisions 2. Suggesting additional provisions 3. Strengthening of existing policy provisions 4. Implementation and monitoring In addition, please give your valuable comments on the overall content and language used in the draft within the framework of a Human Rights Based Approach. We intend to present the modified draft to the Government of Rajasthan on 1 December 2010 - World AIDS Day. Your contributions would be highly useful in improving the draft. Thanking You and with Regards, Brijesh Dubey, RNP+, Rajasthan, and Smriti Verma, IMPACT, New Delhi.
