Hello,

I am fairly new and have been lurking for a few weeks.I was diagnosed

with PA about 3 months ago and started on 12.5mg of MTX 2 weeks ago.

My concern is that everything I've read about this drug says NOT to

take it with Prilosec which I've been on for years for GERD or

Motrin, or Vicodin. So I haven't been taking them but I find that I

get terrible reflux symptoms after taking the MTX and the pain is

getting worse so I'd love to take a pain med. Is anyone else taking

any/or all of these meds? I'm terrified of having a bad reaction

after having been thru a reaction to sulfasalazine about a month ago

that scared the heck out of me.

A little background on me- I'm 42 and have had fibromyalgia for about

7 years although Elavil seems to be keeping it under control. I

actually thought all my pain was from that and was shocked to find

that I had yet another disease! I also have IBS...fun, fun and GERD

for about 13 years. The PA actually started as low back pain after

doing some painting in my house. My regular doctor sent me for PT but

it just kept getting worse and spread to my left hip and right knee

so she sent me to my rheumy. Now it just seems that more joints

every week are becoming painful! I 've gone from working out 5 days a

week to maybe 2-3 if I'm feeling up to it and I try to take walks

with my dogs when the weather allows. Also I'm starting to get

really sensitive skin that geels like it's burning or irritated but

there's no rash or anything visible on my hands and elbows. Just

touching it or having something brush against it is so uncomfortable.

Sorry this is so long. Once I started typing I just couldn't stop,

lol : )

Ang~
