Guest guest
YES! I have the same experience. There is a reciprocal relationship between my skin lesions and the arthritis. If I work too hard on smearing cortizone creams on my skin, the joints will begin acting up. If I medicate the painful joints (I tried glucosamine sulfate, for example) then the lesions flare up. And when I work conscienciously on BOTH, I develop Irritable Bowel Syndrome! My guts are a major source of discomfort for me right now. Skin is stable, joints are dealible with, but I cannot eat anything spicy, and have severe diarrhea more often than not. I've had four injections of Humira so far. With the New Year, my Medicare Part D changed, and they gave me a different prescription plan. The new plan is insisting my Rheumy authorize my use of Humira again. So my most recent shipment of Humira has been delayed while they review my doctor's response. I'm concerned about what missing my scheduled twice a month injection is going to do. I've heard stories about people suffering " withdrawal " crises when they miss a dose. Anyone have experiences they can relate? -- Len Amy Culley <aculley36@...> I am new to this group. I have had PA for 10 years. Even now as I still struggle day to day. When my skin is at it worse, my joints are better. I start to worry when my skin begins to clear because I know a really bad flare is heading my way. Amy
Guest guest
Hi, Mine is the exact opposite. When my skin begins to get bad, I know I am in for a rough couple of days. It is interesting to me, that this condition takes so many different forms. Peace, Tammie --- In , Amy Culley <aculley36@...> When my skin is at it worse, my joints are better. Guest guest
Len I was on Humira for well over a year. It was one shot a week. At the beginning its effects were wonderful but as the year progressed, I found that it helped less and less. I stopped it and went on a drug called Arava which has done wonders. You might ask your Rhuemy about it. Good Luck Walt
