Guest guest
I agree totally that low carb is beneficial for me. If I don't stay away from bread (even the whole grain healthy stuff) I have increased pain and inflammation. I have friends that don't have arthritis that also have pain in the joints when they eat carbs. It may not be the case for everyone but it certainly is for me. I, however, need to stay away from milk also. We are all unique and our bodies need different things. It is hard to figure out what works for each person, but it is worth it is less meds are needed of side effects are reduced. Patty
Guest guest
Just saw my rheumy last week and he had just found out from studies that the effectiveness of methotrexate is diminished by caffeine consumption. Thought that was interesting. -Eileen
Guest guest
Hi Eileen, The caffeine thing " could " be true, but I had never heard of it before and was never asked or warned by my rheumy. Also, I generally have 1-2 large cups of coffee every morning, and drink caffeinated cola the rest of the day and my MTX works very well! I'm also the type that can drink coffee late at night then drop off immediately to sleep. But, ALL of us are different and react differently, so your results may vary. Stay Well,
