Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone is taking plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine sulfate) and if they have night terrors as a side affect? My doctor started me on trazadone yesterday to help me sleep and try to keep the " boogies " at bay but I'm not sure that sleeping more deeply is going to help the nightmares dissipate. Any comments would be helpful.Also.. Do any of the women have endometriosis and PA? I'd be interested to hear from you. Thanks, Crystal

The thing I am noticing the most is that I get very hungry in the middle of the night. I have never been a middle of the night eater and as someone who can't be very active and is pretty hefty already this worries me. I can't sleep if I don't eat something but I am hoping this goes away. Gareeth
Guest guest
Yes I use plaquenil but I've never had a side effect from it. This is the one drug that I use that has never caused me any problems. Maybe it's time for a change? I also had endometriosis and at 32 had a hysterectomy. I had PA before the hysterectomy but had not been diagnosed. The PA started to get worse about 7 years after that surgery. I really don't see a link to the two in my case. Guest guest
I had a hysterectomy at 36 or 37 because of endometriosis and pain but at the time did not have PA. I have always had joint pain though. Probably had the beginnings of it that for back. I am now 62 and was only diagnosed in 2006. Guest guest
hello sherry, I have lots of female trouble and I'm only 38 and the doctor. was going to schedule me for a hysterectomy. We had tried everything and it was last option. Then I started having trouble my PA and finally decided to go to the rheumy and she wanted me to try MTX for my joints so i put the hysterectomy off for a while. The following month I seem to be better and a lot of the female trouble are gone. I give GOD all the thanks. I do have a lot of joint trouble. My rheumy has me on Humira and MTX/Folic Acid, which has gave me a cold sore on my lip and I've had it for about 2 weeks and cant seem to get it to heal up. I have tried Abreva, Neosporin but nothing seems to be helping. I would love any suggestions. I hope that everyone has a nice weekend Angie Hampton <ahampton002@...>
Guest guest
Ask the doctor for Acyclovere to heal up the cold sore. When I had my transplant and was on the immuno's and got bad cold sores it was the only med that would work to heal them. Celeste
Guest guest
Angie: I used to have cold sores a lot, but have not had one in the 2 years that I have been using the supplement L-Lysine. I faithfully take one 620mg capsule every morning when I arise on an empty stomach. Also a cold sore outbreak cycle can be shortened using Tagamet HB 200. www.lef.org suggests taking 200mg 3 times a day and 400mg at bedtime during an outbreak. Continue to take for a week after symptoms have abated. vinny
Guest guest
How much folic acid are you taking? Ask your doctor (call the office!) whether you should increase the amount of FA because of the mouth sore. Many doctors will increase it up to 5 mg until the sores stop. Call your doctor and speak to his nurse about this. best, sherry z > My rheumy has me on Humira and MTX/Folic Acid, which has gave me a cold sore on my lip and I've had it for about 2 weeks and cant seem to get it to heal up. Guest guest
I was diagnosed with endo when I was 17, had laser surgery to remove adhesions at 19 and now at 25 I'm having a major recurrence of endo that seemed to flare when I started having pa symptoms. I'm really concerned that I'll have to have a hysterectomy, I know it's nothing to be scared about, but that will be abdominal surgery #4 for this girl and I'd like to miss that if at all possible! lol Crystal
