Guest guest
HIV positive gay man came to our Drop-In-Center at Shastri Park, Delhi supported by DSAC. Tears rolled down from his eyes saying " my sweet home is no more sweet any more " . There is proverb " grapes are sour when you don't get them " . This is exactly happened to this HIV positive gay man when his family members denied him to visit home during his Christmas vacation in Goa. His siblings told him to stay in hotel far away from his village and city so that villagers would not see or meet him. HIV, ARV and Lipoathropy separated him from his home as his siblings were scared that neighbors and villagers will come to know HIV status because of facial wasting. Middle class families are usually scared of discrimination that they will have bad reputation for their home. My sincere request to NACO to stop Stavudine in combination therapy, as it is doing more harm to HIV positive people. Positive people say it is better to die than face discrimination because of lipoatrophy. Cries of HIV Positive people can wake up NACO and stop Stavudine that cause Lipoatrophy.
