Guest guest
Group, I know the pain from the neck from deterorting bones to muscle spasms. It is not a fun thing to have at all. I am to take the muscle relaxer Soma for mine plus Arthrotec 75 which really does help but the Arthrotec tears my stomach up if I just even take one and I am on the purple pill for my stomach. I have suffered about 30 years with my neck. Ok, this is my question group. My neck is so bad and I need the simple surgery of having my gallbladder remove and asap. I went to one surgeon and he refused me saying I was too high of risk. I am a diabetic also. He claimed I would have to go to hospital where they can have a diabetic doctor there, along with lung and heart doctor. One of the problems is my neck will not go back enough so they could put the tube down my throat. Second, I have spurs all over my body even in my nose. I have a really big spur in the middle of my throat and they are afraid if they do get the tube in me they will break off the spur. I am full of gallstones and have infection in my gallbladder so it has to come out but I am very scared. One doctor told me I only had 50/50 chance of making it. Now I am asking you good people if you have ever had to face this. Any help or info will truly help. Blessings, Zoella " The only people to get even with are those who have helped you. Guest guest
Zoella Very very sorry to hear you are in this type of situation. The only doctor that knows the real perioperative risk is the anesthesiologist. Ask for an anesthesiologist risk evaluation/consultation. This is done by calling the Anesthesia Department at the hospital and asking for preoperative evaluation services. If a community hospital is hesitant to take care of you without scaring you severely, I would recommend trying to have the operation and evaluation done at a University Medical Center. Anesthesiologists at these centers are highly skilled taking care of patients with all kinds and combinations of problems. I can tell you from experience that there always is a *reasonable* option if you need the surgery, an anesthesiologist will not be afraid to take care of your insulin, airway, and cardio-vascular needs. Best luck, wishes, and prayers to you -

Guest guest
Pretzel, Thank you for your kind words. A simple gallbladder surgery has turned out to be a real upsetting thing. I do need all the prayers I can get. I was wondering if you have ever heard of this much trouble with anyone else with PA? Guest guest
, Thank you for your kind words . Your prayers mean more than anything for me. It is hard to believe that a simple gallbladder surgery would be like this but due to the Pa being so bad in my neck and all. My neck will not go back enough for the tube to go down my throat plus I also have a big spur in the middle of my throat on the bone. There are other factors too such as I am a bad brittle diabetic but I go on an insulin pump Nov. 29th. I am trying to not rush into the surgery until maybe after winter. If I can hold on anyway. Your kind words means so much to me. Blessings, Zoella " The only people to get even with are those who have helped you. Guest guest
, I want to thank you for your kind words. I have already talked to the surgeon and anestethigilist, SP , around here and their answere is NO. They would not even think of doing the simple surgery on me. I have to go to a bigger hospital about 100 miles away one way but as of yet I have not talked to them . I just keep putting it off thinking it will go away but it won't. I have to take a constulation with the surgeon and antehesligios first in Tulsa then go from there. I am a brittle diabetic also and go on an insulin pump next week . So much to think about just because of a simple gallbladder surgery. I have a neck that will not go back far enough to put the tube in plus a big spur in the middle of my throat. Have you ever heard of anyone else having problems like this? Thank you you touched me with your words. Blessings, Zoella " The only people to get even with are those who have helped you. Guest guest
Hi Zoella - you are very welcome. Although it's a pain in the backside to go to a big city medical center, they are really the ones who get the toughest cases. The community hospitals do mostly less complicated cases. Yes, I've not only heard of others having problems like yours, quite a few were patients of mine... I'm a retired anesthesiologist, used to work in a NY City medical center, we used to get cases referred from community hospitals regularly. With IV insulin and a pump during surgery your anesthesiologist will keep your brittle diabetes under control. As regards the neck and nose bone spurs, yes there are ways around this too, but I'll leave that for the doctors in Tulsa to discuss with you. Things are probably a bit different now from when I was practicing as well. Blessings back to you, I hope all works out well for you. - >Have you ever heard of anyone else having problems like this? Guest guest
, Thank you so very much for your encouraging words. You really do make me feel better about the operation. I know they are good in about getting around problems like I have but still not ready to go under the knife yet. I know I have to but keep putting it off. I went to my foot Dr. the other day and he took x-rays of my feet again. Even tho I am on Humira the PA in my feet have got worse. The pain is unbearable most of the time plus I have the burning of diabetic neuropathy too. Any way now I had to have a casting made of my foot and they send it off to make a brace for my foot. I will be in it the rest of my life and if this helps some I will have to get one for my other foot too. My bones are so far gone he does not even know how I can walk. I just keep pressing on tho. I have to. This week I get my insulin pump in so I will have it attached to me then the foot brace. Gee I am like the million dollar woman! Thanks you once again and wishing you good health. Guest guest
, You are so kind dear. I am really feeling pressure now cause this coming week I get the insulin pump attached to me and then even tho on Humira the bones are just gone all thru my body. I went to my foot Dr. and now I have to wear a brace on my foot and leg because of my bones. He took a casting the other day and it will be a couple of weeks b4 I get the brace. He said he can not understand how I even walk. I walk or stand 2 minutes and I am in so much pain. It does not help either that I have the burning neuropathy . I do not mean to be just complaining tho. I really had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family and friends and I counted my blessings but I try to do that anyway any time. , your emails are always welcomed here and please send me encouragement and inspiration. I need all I can get to brighten the day. Blessings, Zoella
Guest guest
Zoella, I totally understand your neck pain. My neck is so bad I can't hardly move it at all. I'm in neck therapy and taking muscle relaxers for a month now and I am only 10% better. It's such a stress and a hard way to live. My heart goes out to you. Prayerfully, zody <purplezody@...> wrote: , You are so kind dear.
