Guest guest
Dear Forum members The CHAHA team is very happy to invite you all to an event where we would like you to listen to “the voices of the community”. This is an event to salute the courage of children, their families and care givers in facing-up to the realities of living with HIV. The India HIV/AIDS Alliance and its nine consortium partners implement CHAHA, a child-centered care & support programme for families and communities, with support from Global Fund Round 6 in four high prevalence states - Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Maharashtra. It aims to increase access to services for children living with HIV and for children living in families affected by HIV & AIDS. Although successful and still undoubtedly needed, the programme will end in March 2011. In advance of this closure, we are organising a meeting on the occasion of Children’s Day—Friday, 12th November between 11 and 1 p.m.—to listen to children, caregivers and civil society representatives and to discuss the urgent and ongoing needs to provide a continuum of care to children affected by AIDS as a core element of India’s efforts to mitigate the impact of the epidemic. During the meeting, interactions between children and caregivers will highlight the need to continue and scale up care & support programming for children and families affected by AIDS. We will share lessons from CHAHA to work towards a sustainable child-centered care & support programme within the national programme. Your participation at this event would be a great contribution to its success. We hope that you will accept our invitation to participate in the meeting and respond to the recommendations made by children, caretakers and civil society representatives. The venue for the meeting is: Regent Hall (Basement) Hotel The Connaught 37, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg Near Shivaji Stadium, Opp. Jain Temple New Delhi – 110001 Ph. 011- 2336 4225 Friday, 12th November between 11 and 1 p.m A line of confirmation to tdahiya@... will be greatly appreciated.
