Guest guest
AP: Court ask APSACS to continue 4 of its staff Court asks AIDS authority to continue 4 of its staff Justice Nooty Ram Mohan Rao of the AP High Court on Monday directed the State AIDS Authority to continue 4 of its 'employees' in service pay their wages. The petitioners were engaged in 2006 to identify HIV positive patients in villages, particularly HIV positive pregnant women, monitor them and work in the area of their children, treatment and cure. On March 31, their services were terminated on the ground that the government had decided to outsource the activity and had also identified an agency for the purpose. This is challenged as being illegal and unjust. The petitioners themselves HIV positive persons contended that they had been identified for the project and had worked on the same and there was no reason to terminate their services now. It was pointed out that the action of the authorities was in violation of their right to life and the guarantee to equality under the Constitution. http://expressbuzz.com/cities/hyderabad/hc-notice-to-government-on-ameerpet-land\ /198733.html
