Coming out to your family and friends, relationship with lovers and issues

arising out of them, pressures of getting married to a person of opposite sex,

fear of being infected with HIV and fear of being left alone in old age are

among the major stressors being faced by the gay community.

To deal with these issues come meet a gay friendly psychiatrist Dr.

Gurvinder Kalra in a gay friendly atmosphere, at The Humsafar Trust, Vakola

Center on Tuesdays and Fridays, 4pm to 8pm, for any of your psychological

issues.

If you are not comfortable visiting Vakola Center, on request, we can

arrange for a meeting for you at our Center for Excellence (Cefe Unit ) in

Santacruz West which is a small cozy admin space.

Alternatively, you can also write down issues that affect you and mail it to

qs_hst@... .Dr. Kalra will read your mails and respond to them.

You need not give your real name or any other identifiers about yourself while

accessing the email helpline. We assure to protect your identity and maintain

confidentiality.

However medications will not be prescribed on the email helpline and in such

case you will need to meet Dr. Kalra at Sion Hospital on all working days

between 9am to 12 noon.

*NO consultation charge *will have to borne by those accessing services

You can also talk to some of the gay friendly Psychiatrists’ having private

consultation in the city but their services will *entail consultation charges*

*We suggest that you call humsafar desk and speak with Dr. Priti Prabhughate or

Kavita Bhatia Nair (counselling head ) who will look into the nature of your

need and make appropriate referrals and also give their contact details
