Guest guest
I really encourage you to check with your local YMCA and see if the they have water arthritis exercise classes. They have been a godsend for me. Also, make sure the swelling isn't from your heart. I had to go on a diuretic. If your doctor isn't listening to you, try another! I went through that for years...but I have finally found one who listens and cares.
Guest guest
I would be just furious if my doctor took away my Handicapped sticker. I don't always use it......but when I need it, it saves my life. Any doctor worth a grain of salt knows that xrays don't tell everything. MRIs, CT's, Xrays, Ultrasounds,....all have a different purpose and all show different degrees of disease symptoms. An MRI of my neck shows very little, an Xray of my neck indicates extremely necessary surgery....... SO.....I would talk with your doctor.....and if not happy ......find someone new who has compassion and is not so narrow minded....... good luck! Guest guest
In answer to: my last set of x-rays came back normal. If they are normal then why am I still in pain? For me the pain means inflammation and x-rays DO NOT show inflammation. You need a bone scan. It sounds like your drugs aren't doing the job for you. When my Enbrel is working for me I can get about seven hours sleep a night and only need to get up and stretch a couple of times, then it's right back to sleep. In answer to: Places like Wal-Mart, Target, and the mall make me wanna cry. By the time I even walk from the parking lot to the door, I am already exhausted. Until you find a doctor who recognizes the meds you're on are not treating your inflammation go to Craig's list and look for things that will help you. I have 2 canes, 2 walkers, a pair of crutches, a manual wheelchair and an electric wheelchair - all I acquired without my doctor's knowledge or recommendation. It's my way of saying this disease will not destroy my life; will not keep me from doing what I want to do (within reason - no mountain climbing for me). I'm sorry, a doctor who takes away your handicapped parking just because you have a normal x-ray sounds like a lousy doctor to me. Look for someone better. Good luck
Guest guest
I agree. If there is one thing I have learned in this whole health mess, it is that a doctor who goes on some stray tangent will never come back and it is best to fire them and move onward to a more caring professional.
