Guest guest
Hello all, I, too, have been reading the various opinions on pain relief and addiction. My mother was addicted to codeine for many years before we realized it. She was adept at hiding it from everyone. She had chronic pain that began with shingles and was plagued with the pain for years. She never complained. Then we found out why. (we did manage to get her off them but that is another long story.) When my Pa and fibro began, I used prednisone and Vicodin as my lifeline. How much do you think I cared about addiction? Yeah, about that much. And I had seen it and knew if I abused the pain relievers, I would only have more hurdles to jump later; but I could not think about that then. Please don't assume that just because we take our pain relievers, that we will all be addicts. Now that I am more or less in remission (thank you, LORD) I don't take anything but an occasional Tylenol extra strength, and only one at a time. If you need it, take it. and we will all pray for a day when we no longer have to. Janet in Ca
