Job Opportunities at Humsafar

 

Global Fund in Round 9 signed

its first ever project contract to work with MSM (Men who have sex with Men)

and Transgender community in India on 8th September 2010 with NACO (National AIDS

Control Organisation), the apex agency working under aegis of health ministry

of Government of India, at an estimated cost of 25 Million USD for five years

to work with  200 Community Based Organisations

(CBOs) in 17 States in India.

 

India currently has around

90 CBOs and an effort will be made to bring communities together and provide

support in increasing the number of CBOs to 200.

 

The project will aim at

setting up targeted interventions with new CBOs and provide support to HIV positive

MSM and Transgender to existing CBOs

 

Organisational skills of

all CBOs will be strengthened and capacities built over a period of five years.

 

The project also aims at

providing advocacy support to promote rights of sexual minorities and create an

environment that will lead to acceptance of the rights of sexual minorities in

India.

 

The Humsafar Trust will implement

the project in five states (Maharashtra / Goa / Gujarat / MP and Rajasthan) with

60 partner organisations. The project will be implemented in 12 other states

with MAAN, SANGAMA, SIAAP and SAATHII. ALLIANCE International is the Principal

Partner in this project and will work closely with all five partners.

Experience of working in

the field of HIV and AIDS is a pre requisite to the jobs being offered.

 

A minimum post graduation

degree in social sciences or equivalent is desired for the posts of Programme

Managers and Programme officers with 2 years of work experience.  

 

For all other posts

graduation degree in the relevant stream along with 2 years of work experience
