Guest guest
Has anyone used Cortef instead of prednisone? The pred is really hard on me and am wondering if the cortisone is any better as I have read some places. I am on 7.5 mg and hope to decrease in a couple of weeks. I know it is a low dose, but it causes me to be anxious, have panic episode, be paranoid some times and gives me brain fog. The only thing it isn't doing is helping me gain weight. I lost 10-15 pounds coming off pred in Oct and Nov then was sick with my gallbladder before having it removed. Anyway, I started back up on the metho and pred about 6 weeks ago. I have been being careful about staying away from supposed allergens which do make my PsA worse. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave a lot of fattening foods to eat. My question is has anyone had trouble with not gaining weight while on etho? My labs all looked good two week ago and I am not having any lympho symptoms. Thanks for any replies, Patty \
Guest guest
hi patty,my hubby has been on Cortef for years now because of 's disease.it makes him pretty puffy around the face and stomach and tends to make him hypo-active.I don't see much difference between the two. I'm wondering if it is the gall bladder removal you had is the problem with not putting on weight rather than the meds. good luck with it.from a P.A sufferer from down under .
