Hi All,

Actually, I am not sure if she has PA, but I have a good suspision. She

has had P since she was three, and she is seven now.

I read upon things with her nails after looking it up on the internet. She

started out in the fall with pitting and waves in a couple of fingers in both

hands. I called the derm we were using to see if she needed to be seen after I

gave her the description of her nails. The doctor told the receptionist to tell

me it probably wasn't anything and she just needed the vitamins you can get OTC

for hair and nails. I never called back. I watched her nails, which got worse

until I could find another one. In December we saw the jr. of the doctor my

husband saw when he was a child with p. (His has never turned into PA yet, I

think.)

He could have cared less as I talked about her other medical conditions and the

p I asked if the nails could be PA, he said he didn't know, but if her fingers

hurt she should see a rheumy. So this is where we are now.

She has P under 5 nails, pitting in 4 and only one nail is totally okay for now.

She has finally told me that her fingers hurt sometimes when she uses her pencil

in school. She just happened to complain and had a hard time getting up off the

floor from a knee crossed position, and she said she has to keep her legs

extended when she has to sit a long time on the floor at school (circle time).

I just discovered that there can be problems with the eyes. Which explains why

headlights at night hurt her eyes, and she has a hard time on a sunny day, and

when she first goes outside she sneezes on a sunny day. Which her dad does too.

This has never failed, it is like they are twins because it does it to them both

at the same time! Too funny...

Anyway, I am hoping that some of you can give me the " mom's intuition "

and let me know what happened with you and how you figured it out. I want to say

I am 99% sure that is what she has.

Any experiences will help, I have read all the clinical stuff on the internet

that I can, but I just want to hear from the parents that knew there was

something not right. Also, she gets tired alot sometimes.

Thank you,
