Thanks for the info on your MTX dosing. I was sorta hoping you had been on a

higher dose and had managed to taper down! FYI I have been on the 20 mg MTX for

over 4 months now.

Welcome to the newbies. Re starting new meds, I was on sulfasalazine for a few

months and developed terrible itching, mostly on the face, and then later on the

body. No rash, but I couldn't stand it. So we changed to MTX, and have gradually

increased it. Funnily I did get similar itching after a while, but we decreased

the dose and then brought it up again. I also tried spreading the tablets out.

That worked, some time later got itching again, but (cross fingers) this hasn't

happened again.

So minor side effects do go away. Just let your doctor know straight away, they

want to know.

I have had horrible heartburn with my anti inflammatory. I did have a question

re this. I was taking Mobic tablets, is it worth trying the capsules? The

pharmacist said it wouldn't make any difference but the pain was about 3 inches

below the neck, above the breastbone. Not really the stomach immediately after

the pill. Maybe my esophagus is sensitive? I did try again after taking Nexium

for 2 weeks, but still the same problem.

Then again Ive taken anti-inflammatories for many years on and off. I had

thought these newer COX2 drugs were gentler on the stomach, but i feel it is

affecting me higher up than the stomach.

keep well

regards

max
