Guest guest
Hi all, I have had P for at least 40 years (diagnosed about 25-30 yrs ago) and have tried all sorts of treatments thru the years. I have not been formally diagnosed with PA but... My question for this group is does anyone have PA in the hip joints? I have lately been unable to sleep on either side without pain in the hip joint making me turn over. This has been going on for a month or so. Any thoughts? Guest guest
Hi Sandee, I rarely post but I have PA in my right hip joint and sacroiliac joint. It is starting to develop in my left hip joint. That is where it began over 10 years ago but mine has been a slow progression (thank goodness). It was misdiagnosed for years as an assumed sports injury (I was 17 when I started having symptoms). Getting up from a seated position is my biggest challenge. Car rides are a menace. Sleeping is done exclusively on my left side although it is getting more challenging. Take an anti-inflammatory before bed (Tylenol PM, etc) and see if they improve things. The first step should be logging all of your challenges and then getting a doc appointment after you can keep a month of data. Good luck! --

I am 52 years old and have already had both hips replaced due to PZ: the right hip at age 48, and the left one just this past March.
Guest guest
, I already take a full size aspirin nightly for NAION so I don't think I can take any other NSAID at the same time. But I am starting a journal of sorts and will find a Rhuemy to discuss this with. Thanks to all for the response. Sandee in MO
Guest guest
I'm 49 and had my right hip replaced two years ago as a result of PsA. In just a few weeks I'll be having my right shoulder replaced as well. Mind you, my case is severe and the vast majority of PsA sufferers can control the disease with a combination of medication and exercise. from North Jersey
Guest guest
Yes, I have right hip pain....have had it off an on for bout 12 yrs or so......started getting worse bout a year ago.....luckily I have proactive drs. and good insurance. To sum it up I go in to day surgery about every six or more... Cant do it more than every 6 months. They do the deep injection with ex-ray......It does help tremendously....The Ortho dr. is great an honest. Last time he told me that in 2-5 yrs will need a complete hip replacement. Happy 50th to me! At least he was good enough to prepare me for it. Also have osto-pini in my lower back which doesn't help either... As hard as it seems a positive attitude does help...Just keep telling myself. I " m very lucky every to wake up and to be able to get out of bed, even if it might take couple tries to get out of the bed...lol take care, Joyce
