Guest guest
Before Humira cleared my skin, I used to treat myself 2-3 times a week with a 30 minute soak in a warm bath loaded with baking soda. I used to buy baking soda in bulk at Costco. After the soak, I could take a loofa or one of those back scrubbers from Bed, Bath and Beyond and literally scrub all of the dead skin off of the plaques on my back (which were so thick they felt like giant scabs during the hot Georgia summers), giving me some relief. My dermatoligist discouraged this, saying it was likely making it worse long-term (something about it having to work harder to replace the scales). However, my derm doesn't suffer from the condition himself and cannot understand how much better it felt without the scales. Apparently, the sodium in the baking soda is what allows the moisture to penetrate the scales and loosen them enough to remove them. It sure beats scratching the damned things until they bleed (especially in my sleep). There's a damned good reason I started wearing Alabama crimson t-shirts all the time several years ago. They don't show bloodstains as easy as any other color but black--and what fool of a flaker would ever wear black? ;-)

Guest guest
There is a product called Batherapy. It's sea salts and comes in a big/small jar or packets. It helps get me going in the morning. They have it at Whole Foods and online. Drug stores in Atlanta have stopped stocking it for some reason. http://www.lifesvigor.com/batherapy-natural-mineral-bath-original-16-oz-powder-q\ ueen-helene.html Beth
Guest guest
If you run on a septic field, you probably should too much salt down your drain on a regular basis.
