Guest guest
Hi all-- Happy birthday Becky! I think it has been about a month now since I found this PA website, and I need to tell all of you, especially you, Gillian, what a difference it has made in my life. I look forward to firing up the PC and jumping on the net to see how all of you are doing- like making many new friends- international , to boot! For apparent reasons, when this " condition " -- " I liked that Gillian) rears it's angry head from time to time, it is so easy to isolate. (both in feelings and actuality). When I was diagnosed last year, I realized that I had suffered from this for a long time- the P is so apparent , but I really thought I was nuts to have so much pain so much of the time that I just stopped mentioning it. I am so thankful that when we relocated last year, it meant finding a new FP who immediately added 1+1= 2 and packed me off to the rheum. Then I could not use the old block it out/ denial and had to deal with being scared to death. THAT, ladies and gents, is where all of you have made such a difference. My attitude has improved so much, and THAT is so much the key to dealing with this, or having IT deal with me/us!!!! I really believe that when so much of the tx hinges on doing what others tell us to do, we must keep close reigns on the things we have control of--- and that is #1 on the list. Thanks to all of you for all the help you have been in that department, and many other ways as well Wishing Y'aal a pain, itch and flake free day !!! Guest guest
Barbara, First, let me say that I've received hundreds of emails and calls from the 48-Hours piece. Although I think they should have included the insurance issues in the story, I am -- overall -- pleased with the piece. I think CBS network did a wonderful public service by helping to educate the general public about these dangerous toxins. In order to further increase awareness, I'd like to ask you and your subscribers to participate in a program. I am considering setting up a system whereby labs and AQ firms involved in testing homes would, once a week, inform me of the number of homes diagnosed (that week) with a toxic mold problem. Because of the large, and ever increasing, number of homes containing this problem, I think the American public would better understand how very common this problem is if we kept a weekly record of the number of homes diagnosed with toxic molds. I will then send out a weekly news release on the number of homes found to have the problem during that week. I believe it's important to continue to educate the general public. I'd be interested in hearing from you regarding this. Thanks. Melinda
Guest guest
I am a lurker on this list but have found many good suggestions. The best course that I have taken on ABA has been the Learning to Learn internet course offered by Dr. Partington's company, Behavior Analysts. It helped me so much in knowing what and how to do it. It was expensive, but very worthwhile. I posted privately to who asked about classes, but wanted to also post here in case anyone had any questions. Thanks, in Orlando
Guest guest
THanks to Tammy and Bridget for replying to my question. The one thing my sons speech path said to try was to clap out or tap out the syllables, so he can hear and feel the stopping point of words. Haven't tried it yet. Has anyone else done this?? THanks.
