Guest guest Posted January 11, 2011 Report Share Posted January 11, 2011 I think one of the most stressful parts of this disease is that there is no one standard treatment for everybody. That said, you can treat Lyme disease as you would any other serious disease: get a second opinion! Get it from another LLMD. Your doctor should not be threatened by this. I'm getting a second opinion for my 11 year old, although so far my doctor is doing a great job. I just want another set of eyes to look at his case, and want to leave no stone unturned. My doctor is referring us to another in Boston. I did look into Columbia's Lyme Center, but they don't see children, and they don't follow patients, they only offer a second opinion as to whether you have Lyme or not. Good luck, and stick with it!
