My son has taken it for nearly two months now and has not experienced

any side effects. He does, however, have some breakthrough symptoms

a few days prior to the next dosage so he might need to take the

injection every 12 days vs. every 14 days. Other than that, he feels

it is working for him.

Good luck

My daughter age 3, started on Humira October 1, 2007 and has been taking it ever

since 2x a month.

Sometimes more tired day after taking shot. Has not helped her middle finger

JIA.  Keeps her knee in good shape. Has put her in a medicated remission with

uveitis.  All this took but 3 injections!!

Good luck!

I've been on Humira 6 weeks now (once every two weeks) and it is doing wonders

for me. I've been able to go out for walks with my husband again (something I

desperately missed since being diagnosed).

But I have noticed something odd. Two days or so before I'm due to take Humira

again I feel as if I've got allergies coming on (and I am allergic to dust mites

and some tree pollen as well as leaf molds). I get runny eyes & nose, sore

throat, etc. I generally feel as if I've got allergies or a cold for up to

three days after taking Humira. This has happened each time so far.

I plan to mention it to my rheumy when I next see him, but was wondering if

anyone else experiences this? If it was just after taking Humira, I'd assume it

was a genuine cold and skip a week. But because it's before *and* after, I'm

not sure what to make of it. Should I skip a week and see if there's any

change?

Debbie,

I've noticed since being on Humira my allergies are much better. Studies have

shown that immunosuppressive treatments can reduce allergic reactions.

Is it possible what you are experiencing is a side benefit of the Humira to

reduce your allergic reactions? Then as you reach the time for another dose,

your allergies return because the amount of the biologic in your system is at

it's lowest?
