I was just put on Humira. Am I suppose to have blood work done with Humira? My

rheumy said only with methotrexate (which I couldn't tolerate either). Is this

true?

KL,

Hi, your rheumy is wrong, you absolutely need to have your blood work done even

on Humira. I was taking just Humira and my liver enzymes doubled in 2 months

time. Insist to have your liver checked every few months.

Hi There..If your rheumy said that then you definitely need to find a new doc!

You should have your levels checked with all biologicals. I was on Humira for 3

years and my insurance required the blood work to be done every 6-8 weeks.

Hope this Helps,

Francine

I have had blood work done for methotrexate and NSAIDS. I think it speaks to the

relative safety of the biologics in comparison that they do not require blood

tests.

I too try to " stretch out " my Humira shots to 2 weeks, but can handle days 10

thru 14! How has the Humira affected your psoriasis patches? Do you use

topicals too?

Thanks for sharing, P
