Guest guest
Hello everyone, My husband has psoriatic arthritis and currently doing better after a year of Humira but not at 100% . Of course we are the beginning of all this and I know that it will not always be so smooth sailing as he was quite debilitated beforehand. Now it is clear that my five year old has guttate psoriasis triggered by strep. I noticed it a year ago after a strep infection and put it out of my mind.( Just two small drops on her back) Now, here we are again, recovering from strep and the two patches are back plus three more nearby. I am not a doctor but I'm pretty clear on the diagnosis. It's unmistakable. So I am not to concerned about a few patches! this- I can live with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My concern is of course - the future. I read there is a 68% chance it could develop into psoriasis over time. Considering her family history is stacked we are concerned. She seems pretty young to be starting. I'm writing to ask if any of you have had this situation and how it played out? What are some ideas on prevention as well. We have not seen a doctor as I'm not sure there is anything they will do at this point. I will put a call into my husbands rheumatologist. The girls take fish oil, acidophilus and a multi vitamin. I'm thinking about some more time out to get the sun on her back .. but other than that?? Thanks so much in advance for your thoughts. - Theodora
